Final Post

One of the main concepts we learnt in Biology 11 was  evolution between all the animal kingdoms and plants. We learnt how evolution has played a role in our  present life.  One of the things that I would change in Biology 11 is my way of studying.  I have learnt that you must study a bit everyday to keep up with everything and all the information that  you learn. Biology was a course in which there was a lot of memorization and I learnt that I must find a way in which I could memorize all the information. What I found most interesting about Biology 11 were the labs. The labs were fun and honestly a great  way to learn. I learnt a lot while dissecting and it was an entertaining way to learn. The labs helped me understand a lot more better about the animals, plants , microorganisms or anything we were dissecting than just studying.  Biology 11 was a really fun, interesting but hard subject for me.

Squid!!

The squid dissection was my favourite dissection because of its interesting body structure and its body parts. I was really surprised when I saw the squids mantle, it just looked like a sharp piece of plastic to me but it was really surprising how that "piece of plastic" was really important for the squid. It was also extremely cool when we got to play around and write with the squids ink sac! The squid lab was overall very fun!

Trip to Aquarium

During my trip to the Aquarium i saw these sea stars which interested me. They are from the Echinodermata phylum and their subphylum is called Asterozoa. They are the same as others from their phylum because their habitat, ways of reproduction and sources of energy are the same or similar.

Arthropods

I found scorpions as very interesting arthropods because they have been around for the longest time ever. I also found it really interesting how if you put a scorpion in a freezer overnight nothing will happen to it! That is amazing. They also contain very poisonous venom and can be very dangerous. Scorpions have eight legs and contain a segmented tail. Thier size range is from 9 mm to 20 cm. Overall, scorpions may be small creatures but are very dangerous!
